Ľubica Hanesová – gingerbread

My name is Ľubica Hanesová. I first started decorating gingerbread houses when my kids were little. Now that I have grandchildren, I have returned to this tradition again. Together with my granddaughter we also exhibited our decorated gingerbread houses in the Slovak Matica, where we presented our creations with spring and winter motifs. In the Novohrad Education Centre I led the course “Painted Gingerbread Houses.“ I want to continue to demonstrate this craft at exhibitions, but also as a volunteer. Gingerbread decorating is a matter of the heart for me. I decorate them myself, mostly at home. I use mostly home-made ingredients to prepare them. Everything is 100% handmade. She also decorates her gingerbread houses with regional designs, such as lace patterns from the Turie pole.
