Pet’uša Castle is located approximately 5 km from the town of Zvolen and 2 km from the village of Ostrá Lúka. Based on archaeological research, it seems that the castle was built during the 2nd half of the 14th century, existed during the 15th century and probably by the end of the 15th century or beginning of the 16th century, its users abandoned it and the castle gradually declined. Who built the castle or to whom it belonged can only be assumed, as there is no written source about this location. It is possible, however, that the castle was built by a nobleman of the Ostrolúcky family, who held important positions in the leadership of the Zvolen County. The castle is currently the focus of research activities of an archaeological team. During the research seasons 2011-2015, almost 20,000 different fragments (ceramics, metals, animal bones and teeth, charcoal, grease,…) were discovered, which tell about the time of the settlement of the castle.
