Iveta Žlnková – bobbin lace

Mgr. Iveta Žlnková, a graduate from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Comenius University in Bratislava, who comes from Veľký Krtíš, has dusted off the tradition of bobbin lace, which has survived for more than a hundred years. „preserve for future generations”. So she drew their patterns on paper. She has managed to capture the basics of traditional production techniques in four publications, with illustrated workflow and examples of finished products: Bobbin lace from Hunt, Bobbin lace from Novohrad, Tulle lace in Hunt and Novohrad bobbin lace. Through years of active bobbin lace making, Iveta Žlnková has become a master of bobbin lace. She participates in many international exhibitions and competitions. In 1999 she took 2^nd and 3^rd place in the competition „The most beautiful train“ in Prague with her Hrušov lace, in 2006 she charmed the jury in the international competition „Train – Historical Reconstruction“ with her Príbelice lace and won. In the bobbin lace competition on the theme „Youth-Joy“ organised in 2023, her „Costumed Beauty“ won 1^st place.
