The late Baroque manor house in Svätý Anton in the beautiful surroundings of an English park with lakes, cascades and an artificial cave was built in 1744-1750 on the site of an older castle from the 15th century. The manor house is valuable for its interior decoration. The last inhabitant was the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand Couburg. There is a hunting exposition unique in Slovakia and a rare art-historical exposition. It includes original furnishings: precious wall decorations, furniture, earthenware (maiolica) stoves, chandeliers and works of art. The jewel of the exposition is the golden furniture, a wedding gift of the French Queen Marie Antoinette. Every year at the beginning of September, St. Hubert’s Days, a nationwide celebration of hunters and friends of nature, are held on the grounds of the manor house.  The hunting exposition, the largest of its kind in Slovakia, contains many rare trophies, weapons and paintings.
