Novohrad Museum and Gallery

The mission of the Novohrad Museum and Gallery is not only the creation and preservation of collections related to the cultural heritage of Novohrad, but also the retelling of stories. So that the fragments of the history of Novohrad – crafts, design, art, stories, traditions… are not lost. It is not just about the objects in the depositories or the exhibition premises. In its collections, it manages artefacts revealing the stories of Novohrad, from the bronze treasure from Hodejov, through the glass and enamelling industry, or the craftsmanship of potters, to the everyday life of people in the Novohrad region. The museum contains more than 30,000 items. The museum is housed in the monumental building of the former county courthouse in the historical centre of Lučenec.
