Pavel Kováč – slovak mead

It is incredible how much health and benefit bees bring us. Thanks to them we have products more than beneficial to our health – honey, propolis, royal jelly, wax, bee pollen and mead. Mead is a delicious alcoholic drink made from honey and water, which contains many vitamins and minerals contained in bee products. It is a purely natural product. Once it reaches 12% alcohol, it must be clear, have sparkle and the right taste. It has beneficial effects especially on the digestive system. It can also be drunk warm at about 50 °C, but it must not pass the boiling point. It is good to add a slice of lemon to cold and warm mead.

Ing. Pavel Kováč has been beekeeping for 39 years, since he married into a beekeeping family in Želovce. In 1995 he took over the ORKO company from his in-laws and established his own business for the sale and production of bee products. After his retirement in 2017, he closed the business and has been beekeeping only on a small scale.
