Lučenec Synagogue

The synagogue in Lučenec is a neological synagogue in Art Nouveau style. It was built in 1924-1925 and is registered as a national cultural monument. The synagogue is the work of Hungarian architect Leopold Baumhorn. The last rabbi was Artúr Reschowský. Until 1944, the synagogue served as a place of worship for the Jewish Church. Today, the restored Synagogue serves as a multicultural booth. Visitors, whether individuals or organised groups, are given expert commentary on the history and reconstruction of the building by trained lecturers. There is also a permanent exhibition of Jewish cultural heritage in the town of Lučenec. In addition, cultural and social events such as classical and modern music concerts, art exhibitions, talks, dance events, balls, school academies, congresses, professional trainings and seminars are held here.
